Haiti: Continued Need
Submitted by mspeicher on Tue, 03/23/2010 - 08:58With the generous support of the church, so far in Haiti more than 320,000 pounds of food has been provided for communities in need, along with shelters for more than 700 families and various other needed supplies. And more is on the way.
However, with 230,000 dead and over 1.3 million displaced people, the need is still great,
especially with the rainy season on its way and 80 percent of the standing buildings in the affected area being deemed unstable. The lack of shelter and sanitation lends itself to the quick spread of various diseases.
